I can believe that the VR book is set before Prime….but that still leaves the fact that having both at the same time is a huge dissonance in the portrayals

What is happening to Maya is horrible and she doesn’t deserve it
She’s just a victim of an unfair industry

In theory, but it comes with a lot of risks:
1) they don’t have a guarantee to win to begin with
2) the whole show would be delayed till that was resolved
3) no matter the outcome, Toei could lose all the talent the agency has, screwing who knows how many of their productions

Ok so in regards to Gozyuger
I want to be clear: Toei should have done more to protect Maya, specially from those face rumors.
BUT! If you do research, the Japan talent agencies hold too much power. Her agency directly asked Toei to remove her, which is likely in the contract
Could Toei fight this?

Reminder for toku fans:

In Japan, a celebrity’s talent agency holds inordinate power over them and how their image/likeness is used by companies who hire that talent.

While we will never know the whole story, I would say it’s a much safer bet to direct your anger to the talent agency, not Toei.
