27.02.2026 20:21 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I continue to be fascinated by the phenomenon whereby an expert engages with any of the LLMs on their field of expertise and is instantly horrified by the wrong answers, and then goes on to use it for things they are not experts in as though it wonβt be just as bad for those.

I've been a wildlife biologist for more than 4 decades and I can't tell the difference between tundra and trumpeter swans (with confidence) on the wing. We brought back trumpeter swans from the brink: this could put all that work at risk.
I too oppose a swan hunt in MB. πͺΆπ¦’

On this day that supports inclusive futures for women and girls in science, let's not forget all the women that were sidelined, ignored, or forced out of science because they:
- had children
- prioritised family/caring
- did science differently
- questioned boundaries & norms
- fought the patriarchy

How do we know our research results are REAL? We replicate them! Most folks agree but lament on how hard it is to publish these replications.
My dearest gentle reader, lament no more! Delighted to unveil: Replication Studies, a new section of Behavioral Ecology 1/

Really looking forward to working with the @contaminantsenvsoc.bsky.social team in 2026. Already seeing some very interesting manuscripts coming in.
If you and your team investigates contaminants / ecotoxicology with societal aspects, do consider submitting your MS's to this journal!

I wrote this song on Saturday, recorded it yesterday and released it to you today in response to the state terror being visited on the city of Minneapolis. Itβs dedicated to the people of Minneapolis, our innocent immigrant neighbors and in memory of Alex Pretti and Renee Good.
