It was a staple of old school Survivor, as well. Getting your flint for going to Tribal Council was not the norm until at least some point after China. My chronology is mixed up because I'm watching the seasons in random order, so I can't say for certainty when it changed.

Part of me was expecting to see Ben and Adam running through the background in one of the train stations.

I've been rewatching the entire series. There were definitely seasons where a tribe didn't get fire until they won a challenge, be it an immunity or a reward challenge.

How is this different from the earlier seasons of the show when you wouldn't get your flint until you won your first challenge? Earning your flint has been part of the show since essentially the beginning, and no one has complained about it until the New Era.

We did get to watch him be bad at Big Brother for 100 days. Was that not enough?

At least he isn't in a showmanve with either of them. Yet.
