Greg Kot and Jim DeRogatis interviewed Jenny Toomey and Kristin Thomson of the great 1990s indie band Tsunami for their Sound Opinions podcast last week. Good listed that touches on what made DIY Indie culture so worthwhile back then, what sucks about the Internet today and how to fix that.

What I remember is that Jordan Hirsch figured out a way to help hundreds of musicians get back to the city they loved and the homes they lost. Supporting Jordan and "Sweet Home New Orleans" was one of the most satisfying experiences I ever had as a grantmaker.
