If a person's desire to *be* the change outweighs their desire to *see* the change, be cautious of them no matter how virtuous the cause they're leading the charge on

Librarian. Cheerleader for wild ideas. She/her. Opinions my own.

This. Absolutely this.

My former NPR colleague Alex Curley created this "Adopt A Station" website to help you find (and donate to) the stations most at risk. adoptastation.org

What is National Library Workers Day? NLWD is a day for library staff, users, administrators and Friends groups to recognize the valuable contributions made by all library workers. On January 25, 2003, a resolution was proposed: That in order to recognize the hard work, dedication, and expertise of library support staff and librarians that the Tuesday of National Library Week be designated National Library Workers Day; and, that on that day, interested library workers, library groups, and libraries should advocate for better compensation for all library workers and, if the day coincides with Equal Pay Day, these individuals, groups, and libraries should recognize both days together.
today is National Library Workers Day, and i am asking you to support library workers by
-using your library (it matters!);
-defending library workers against the ongoing efforts to intimidate, silence, and criminalize them;
-advocating for better pay for them. π
The library is the only place that Americans experience the fullness of what it means to remove goods from the market. It pings our consciousness. Hey we could love differently!

A screen reader user may still be able to access the text of PDFs created this way, but heading structure, alternative text, and any other tag structure will be lost. Using "Save As" or "Export" can preserve these tags.
