I wish you all the best and hope that, should you become a parent yourself, you will be the paragon you wish others to be and will be blessed with perfect prodigies of offspring who will acquiesce enthusiastically to your every aspiration and instruction.

If it's fine 'for most', why would you have so many students out of class that you can claim you'd be better off teaching in the corridor? Something doesn't add up here.
And workplace 'reasonable adjustments' are a legitimate request under the Equality Act π€·ββοΈ. The keyword here is 'reasonable'.

May be vague, but it's still a touch more specific and accurate than 'pumpkin spice', IMO! π
01.03.2026 17:38 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Screenshot of text from article: The circumstances surrounding the initial response to the death of Low, 65, described as βa gentle, hardworking chap who wouldnβt say boo to a gooseβ, are perplexing. A dog walker, alerted by barking from Millie, who refused to leave her ownerβs side, found Lowβs lifeless body the following morning and called 999. Andrew Bryce, a paramedic, arrived at the scene just after 8.30am and declared Low dead. The suspected cause of death was listed as cardiac arrest. Detective Constable Mark Chance arrived an hour later and came to a different conclusion. After carrying out βvisual observationsβ he concluded that the injuries βwere consistent with Mr Low falling while out for a walkβ. This led to the death being treated as non-suspicious for four days. That changed abruptly when, as Lowβs body was being moved for a post-mortem examination, a number of shotgun pellets fell from the body bag. Dr Tamara McNamee, a forensic pathologist, then changed the case to a potential suspicious death. She found that Low had been shot βface-onβ and had suffered about 30 pellet wounds, with pronounced injuries to his chest, right upper arm, left upper arm, neck and face. His clothes were peppered with holes and several pellets were found in his lungs. A full week after the killing, police erected a cordon around the murder scene, which had been trampled over by walkers and animals and deluged with rain. Detectives took another four days to officially tell the public that Low had been shot dead.
Apparently the SOCOs weren't called in for a week after the death, by which time the scene had been contaminated almost out of existence.

Not disputing its utility. I just doubt that any flavour you can get from garlic powder is unobtainable from fresh garlic, depending on how you cook it (unless the garlic powder has non-garlic additives in it, MSG or summat).
But absolutely, not everyone has time/facilities to cook garlic 15 ways!π
Does that not bring us back round to it being the teaching environment that needs an overhaul?
To one where EHC needs are properly evaluated; specific needs are fully accommodated with suitable (state) provision; and other difficulties are appropriately managed?
Depends how you prep and cook your garlic, really. Stir-fried garlic slices in a Chinese dish taste very different from crushed garlic that's been simmered for hours in a ragoΓ»t, while baked and confit garlic are almost sweet.

Not visible: cloves, fenugreek, celery seed, unsmoked paprika, white pepper, fine black pepper, sea salt, mace, vanilla pods, saffron. All used frequently.
P.S. What's 'pumpkin spice'?
Meantersay, 'spice' made from pumpkin has got to be the blandest food additive ever, considering the non-taste of pumpkin (vaguely leguminous water).
Less of a flavour enhancer, more of a flavour drainer?
Brits don't use onion and garlic powder because, when they cook, they mostly chop an onion or two and peel and crush a few cloves of garlic.
Haven't used dried garlic granules since I was in University Halls of Residence and I can't remember *ever* seeing onion powder except in US 'cookery' videos.
I'm sorry, I still don't get it. What is preventing the school from resisting these parental demands, on the basis that the demands are as unreasonable/arbitrary as you say?

What do you think would help to make doing one thing at a time the norm again?
(Can't help feeling that the typical secondary-school setup, where one has to get up and shift to a different classroom and subject every 40 minutes, is perhaps not optimal for fostering sustained attention and focus?)

The answer is obviously no, but should be yes.

From my understanding of #ECAT ISPs are not going to be legally enforceable are they?
I'm more worried that good but expensive therapies might be dropped from the list of allowed interventions.
And that the "menu" of packages for EHCPs will not be flexible enough to support some learners needs.
