The Gaelic Literature Awards 2025: Winners - Gaelic Books Council The winners of the Gaelic Literature Awards 2025! Awards were presented on Tuesday 16th September at Cottiers Theatre, Glasgow.

It is a great honour that 'An Staran' won the Donald Meek Award. I am especially grateful to @acairbooks.bsky.social, Ian MacDonald, and the Thomson family. Congratulations to all the other winners and shortlisted writers, and many thanks to @leughleabhar.bsky.social for a beautiful celebration.

It is a pleasure to have a piece on 'Irish Content and Contributors in Ruaraidh Erskine’s Gaelic Magazines’ in the latest issue of the Journal of Irish and Scottish Studies - the first publication based on @erskineproject.bsky.social.

On 20-23 August #OTD 1901, a pan-Celtic congress was held in Dublin, and Erskine served as its vice-president. An upcoming talk 'Radical Scottish Gaelic Magazines in the Twentieth Century and Contacts with Brittany' on 30 April, 10 am, in person at the University of Western Brittany and online. The presentation will draw on @erskineproject.bsky.social and discuss Breton contributors and content in Gairm.

111 years since Erskine revived The Scottish Review. The quarterly kept appearing regularly between 1914 and 1920, covering a turbulent period of Scottish and European history. Apart from Gaelic writers, it attracted contributors from Ireland, and it also published new content in Scots and on Scots.
