For clarification.

"People pleasers" are those that supplant or outright sacrifice their own agency and desires for the comforts of others without significant resistance.

"Caregivers" are those that do for others actively, by choice, without sacrificing their agency but with enforced boundaries.

Got reintroduced to the term "people pleaser" recently. Not aimed at me, just in conversation about something else. But it reminded me that I was one in the past.

I am an innately affectionate person and, so in that regard, I've evolved into a "caregiver" as I like taking care of my loved ones.

A good start to a (hopefully) productive evening.

I think James Gunn has a thing for 7th episodes now that he does tv shows, because he always goes for the emotional nukes during episode 7 of both seasons of #Peacemaker and I never finish them with a dry eye. Chris and Harcourt's talk got me in 6 but this... 😭 FUCK.

I'ma need Marvel Studios to quit fuckin' about and release a box set for all three seasons of What If.

I loved this show from first to last and Captain Carter will always remain my favorite character in the MCU.

So yeah, this was a What If appreciation post.

NOW GIMME MOTHERFUCKIN' BOX SET!

There are legitimate criticisms to be levied at the script and direction of these movies but I'd argue they are still fun, entertaining time capsules of superhero cinema with a great cast that captured the core of the characters (pun intended) fantastically. They're definitely worth a reappraisal.

After seeing (and loving) Fantastic Four: First Steps, I realized something. The way that audiences turned on these films was undeserved and I'm ashamed that I did too. Having given them another watch for the first time in ages, I definitely let the internet at the time sway my opinion of them.

It almost feels like... is there love or companionship without that cost? If there is, I don't think I've ever experienced it.

But in their zeal and joy, they don't realize that they break me a little bit at the same time. He said it makes him sad to see it happen so much. Too often it feels like the cost of being human, but knowing that others can see it too?

A good friend of mine told me that I tend to attract broken people. He said that, it's not just because I myself am also broken, but somehow being around me, with me, etc., gives them something that helps them heal themselves a little bit.

If you haven't, both SUPERMAN and FANTASTIC FOUR are great movies to see in theaters while you still can.

I don't care that much about box office, I just think they are good, fun films full of heart that deserve to be seen.

A mini-series filling out the world and history of the MCU through Wakanda's war dogs with Disney-level animation?

Oh, that most definitely gets a hearty HELL YEAH!

As good as the first season was, I'd say there's an exceptionally strong argument for season 2 being even better. I'd back that argument without hesitation.

Methinks that a double feature in the very near future will do my soul some good.

I don't care that F4 hasn't come out yet, I have no doubt that I'm going to love it and, unlike so much of the internet, I can live with the possibility of being wrong.

A review for a Little Caesar’s somewhere by Kevin S: Stopped into this Little Caesars just trying to get a $6 pizza and ended up in a full on action movie. Just as I grabbed my order, this furious dude barges in yelling about how I cut him off in traffic earlier. Before I can even respond, he throws a punch but then out of nowhere the guy behind the counter jumps over it like he's been waiting for this moment his whole life and just beats the living hell out of the guy. The guy ran off and the cashier just dusted himself off. I said "are you ok man" and he looked me dead in the eye and said "B*tch, this is Little Caesars. We always hot and ready." Five stars. Will absolutely return.

(3/3) But if you spend the runtime salty about the Snyder-verse (which was killed by WB before James Gunn was involved), you're going to miss something wonderful.

So yeah, that's on you, while I got a Superman I can get behind in acting AND writing, and I want to see where DC Studios takes us next!

(2/3) I got to see a character that I didn't appreciate until I was an adult portrayed so accurately, it could stack up with Christopher Reeve's portrayal and I felt what you're supposed to when you see Superman... hope.

Now, here's the thing. Like a good TTRPG, you have to buy-in to the world.

(1/3) I got to see this movie and, in so many ways, it was absolutely what I needed, as I saw it with my family.

There's been a lot of pain, disappointment, and heartache in my life in recent weeks, and though we have persevered, it all exacts a toll.

But, then I got to see this movie.

The heroes never changed, they did. And THAT is what should really be upsetting them.
