The other factor for me was living with someone I cared strongly about who was also trying to quit. I knew if I started again that they would as well, so that combined with the resolve that I wasn't so weak that I was incapable of stopping my body from going through the motions was all it took

Ah right! They sound devious… If you’re trying to quit, I wish you the best of luck! What worked for me with cigs was realising that it took a dozen different acts (getting the pack, my lighter, taking a cig out, etc.), and if I could muster the willpower to stop one of those I wouldn’t be smoking

Weird! I also smoked for about ten years, and quit cold-turkey one day and haven’t smoked since (over 8 years now). What is it about vaping that you find makes it harder to quit? Ubiquity? Flavour? Something else? Just curious

I agree that as of the end of ep 2 the kids/brother storyline is not particularly interesting. I do appreciate the world-building of the show though; we're seeing a bit more than just ye-olde Weyland-Yutani, and a bit more than the typical xenomorphs. Also: the production design team nailed the vibe

Certainly when I was in school the teaching modality for Irish was terrible; it was just forced like any other subject. I think if it had been approached in the same way as teaching something like French or German that it might have struck a chord with me sooner (didn't "get" it until 5th year)
