but the whole point of the apollo program was to work on rocket booster technology for ICBMs.... Did his teacher ever ask what his dad did in the military?

2.) every time in the 1st 6mo a colleague asks to get coffee do it.

4.) you will make mistakes itβs fine
5.) thereβs a lot of this we were never trained for.
I know of a lot of high powered magnets in Pittsburghβ¦. But I didnβt know I could use them to move furniture !!

23.09.2025 22:45 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0WAIT. this is my first time. Do i need to get it submitted BEFORE the government shuts down?
23.09.2025 22:38 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0anyone ever have a cytiva column valve confuse upflow and downflow?

15.09.2025 23:39 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0NMRSky! Is there any way to indicate multiple peak assignments for a single spin system (I.e., exchange where two peaks for one amide are visible) in a BMRB deposition? @nmr900.bsky.social
Thanks!
anyone else seeing insane tarrif charges? 24% more expensive?!?!

14.09.2025 23:45 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0In addition the "in-cell" spectra look to clean to truely be in-cell. Now i have never done RNA in-cells but As a Pielak PHD and Gronenborn Postdoc who did in-cell NMR in each lab I can comment that these spectra are very suspect to me.
12.09.2025 18:22 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0look at these supernatant controls...they saw leakage in their post and just scrolled down in intensity to try to flatten it out. I have NEVER seen an NMR spectrum without resonances look that much like a flat line and then on top if you look at where the deviations from flat correlate with peaks
12.09.2025 18:22 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Me: Ugh i shouldn't have agreed to review this manuscript it does not match the abstract and is going to be a lot of work when i should be writing a grant...
Also me: oooo invitation to review another manuscript that I know is going to be interesting...β
*sigh* at least this 2nd one will be easy
this is why I'm glad I don't watch/read the local news... as someone whose lab works a bit on dengue i probably should know its in SD lol

End rant.

anyone have bead bath bead suggestions that are affordable?
Or any hacks, can I go to wally world and by 500 worth of BB gun ammo (on my p-card) thats made of the same material?
This work of course was done by two talented members of the Guseman Lab, Sabrina Richter our former all star tech who just left us for grad school at UC-Berkeley and it was started by the Neal Brook during their summer rotation last year. I am sure this is the first of many stories from them!
13.08.2025 17:25 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Our data suggests that the glycocalyx could be able to modulate the energy landscape between these states and thus influence cell signalling. Given the dynamic nature of the glycocalyx and its ability to remodel itself as response to stimuli/cell stress. This is an exciting ave for future study!
13.08.2025 17:25 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0These results demonstrate the glycopolymer components of the glycocalyx can tune stability and interactions of proteins by acting as macromolecular crowders. Contextually, many of the proteins that reside in the glycocalyx are involved in signalling and exist in inactive state A and active state B.
13.08.2025 17:25 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Switching next to protein protein interactions, we used arguably my favorite protein A34F GB1 to demonstrate that these glycopolymers stabilize protein protein interactions in a similar fashion to protein folding, via chemical interactions.
