Went to the children's school's open house, and we are apparently already at the point where the youngest' autism and related behaviour issues have them writing her off as not worth the effort or resources.

I'd accept this argument if there was any indication that the league was still exploring expansion. From what I have seen the hopes of Atlantic expansion basically died during covid.

The changes that the #CFL announced are all to make the game more exciting and NOT to make it more like the NFL. The fact that the only changes they could think of happen to make the game more like the NFL is ENTIRELY A COINCIDENCE.

We didn't consult any #CFL players, coaches, or officials, but we did ask TSN which is basically the same thing. Anything that a TV exec likes is bound to be more exciting for the fans!

These changes were passed unanimously by the #CFL board of governors. I mean the vote was held after the guy from Rogers/MLSE threw a tantrum and threatened to fold the Argos if they couldn't get more Bills games in Toronto, but that's besides the point.

Along with the new #CFL changes, we will be replacing "O Canada" with "Star Spangled Banner". This anthem is much more dynamic and entertaining, with rockets and bombs, rather than just Standing on Guard for Thee.

"Thee" is a Shakespearean word that doesn't appeal to younger fans.

"Elbows up is a 15 yard penalty and a game misconduct!"

New slogans for the next #CFL season:

"Our balls WERE bigger!"
"Radically American Jr."

The reason the #CFL has a hard time growing their fan base isn't because it has quirky rules or because the field is different. It's because it's a niche product hidden behind a paywall, by a broadcasting partner who would rather promote the Bills or Seahawks over a team that they are part owners.

The CFL need to actually promote it's brand instead of trying to cater to NFL fans who aren't going to jump ship just because you things look a little bit like what they're used to.

Well, we could have our biggest market teams actually try to market themselves, but nah, let's keep chasing the mythical NFL fans who will jump on the bandwagon just as soon as the CFL become a feeder league.

Suddenly the lessons I had about Guerilla Theatre in my theatre history courses in university seem quite relevant.

I do however think they missed an opportunity to do a quality early education show. They could have taught kid about the solar system, or don't make fun kid who looks different, or something more than the fork goes with the meatball.

I watched the first two episodes of Star Trek Scouts. As a parent I wished they took an the opportunity to try to introduce kids to science an astronomy and was less "hey nerd parents, buy all our playsets and toys."

My kids review: "That was weird". #startrek

They really did pop up like, well, weeds as soon as it was made legal.

Between that, the sportsbook ads, and every corner advertising that they can sell booze now, I sometimes miss the more Puritan days of living in Ontario.
