Black and white portrait photograph of a young man in a World War I-era Canadian military uniform. He wears a peaked cap with a badge, high-collared tunic with buttons down the front, epaulettes, and insignia on the shoulders and collar. The image shows signs of age with scratches, dust spots, and slight fading. The background is a plain, painted studio backdrop with clouds. The soldier gazes directly at the camera with a serious expression.
At 10:57 a.m. on Nov. 11, 1918, George Lawrence Price stepped out into a village street in Belgium.
As he did, a German sniper shot him in the chest.
He died one minute later and became the last Canadian soldier to die in the First World War.
This is his story.

A vintage photo of the Caribou Hotel, a multi-story building with a dark exterior and multiple windows, featuring a sign on the roof. The hotel has a Canadian flag and other flags on top. In front of the building, there are several people, a red vehicle, and a small crowd gathered near the entrance, with mountains visible in the background.
The Caribou Hotel in Carcross, Yukon has a long history.
Built during the Klondike Gold Rush, it is said there are two ghosts who haunt the building.
One is Bessie a former owner, and the other is her beloved parrot Polly.
This is the story.

The photo shows the National War Memorial in Ottawa, Canada, featuring a tall stone arch with bronze statues. At the top, figures symbolizing Peace and Liberty stand, while below, soldiers from various branches march through the arch. Inscriptions on the base read "1914-1918," "1939-1945," "1950-1953," and "2001-2014," marking significant Canadian military conflicts. The Canadian Parliament buildings are visible in the background under a partly cloudy sky.
Before the First World War was over, there was already talk of creating a national memorial to Canada's soldiers in Ottawa.
That came to fruition on May 21, 1939 when King George VI officially dedicated the memorial.
This is the story of the National War Memorial.

The black-and-white photo shows Anahareo sitting on a chair, dressed in a fringed leather outfit with a scarf at her neck. She holds a cigarette in her right hand, with a shadow cast on the wall behind her. The overall tone suggests a vintage, possibly early 20th-century setting.
Archie Belaney, a British man who called himself Grey Owl, is credited with saving the Canadian beaver from extinction, but it was Anahareo who turned him to conservation.
Her story is often ignored, but she was an author, activist and woman ahead of her time.

The black-and-white photograph depicts a man in a suit and tie, wearing glasses, with a serious expression. The image has a classic, mid-20th-century style, suggesting it could be a formal portrait from that era.
On this day in 1986, Tommy Douglas died.
Considered one of the most important Canadians of the 20th century, he served as premier of Saskatchewan, led the federal NDP, and was instrumental in the creation of Medicare in Canada.
Let's explore his life :)

They are dressed in colorful, 1980s-style clothing, including jeans, jackets, and accessories like pom-poms and musical instruments, exuding a lively, youthful vibe against the brick building backdrop.
On this day in 1989, Degrassi Junior High aired its final episode.
The second series in the Degrassi franchise, it was critically-acclaimed and heavily influenced teen dramas of the 1990s.
