Exactly the opposite for me. The process, the journey, is the fun part. The end is something to be admired, but not the goal.

Once that journey has ended its time to move on to the next. I move on if I'm not enjoying the process either, or the end result suffer too.

Because other ppl have seen this on other platforms and asked... No I do not use an airbrush, but no traditional paint brushes are used either.

I use makeup brushes. Dampening them slightly to prevent the acrylic paint from clumping.

Much improved on the fleshtones. The inner workings of the hat and the coat have begun. Nothing is complete yet.

Painting eyes inside those goggles is going to be the real pita though...

Got confirmation on what the Plane is. Its called a British RTF Nieuport 17. So I was way-way off.

An update so far on this. So much more to do!

I very briefly saw the plans, but I couldn't begin to remember exactly what they were. Sentinel, Vigilent, or Auster is my guess, but I could also be very wrong. It was a 1 seater and a very early ww2 boxy prop plane.

Rather than painting (or even sharing pictures) I assembled a box of Malestrain Genestealers. Then used a sonic cleaner on about 30 old Chaos Marines, who are yet another step closer to a rebasing and a fresh paint job!

He's usually pretty good at leaving my hobby area alone, but as cats do, he's trying to migrate and find some new sleeping arrangements. The recliner just won't do anymore, not after the vacuum attack yesterday (cleaned it) 😂

FYI: the necromancer on the far right took a devastating blow from the monster and was placed immediately prone after the attack.

I didn't paint this, but I did find it in my light box. So it counts.

Now that the Vyper gets an update, that leaves Chaos Bikers and the Chaos Land Raider the oldest unchanged miniatures in 40k. Let that sink in...

Also, as my hobby-curse has it, anything in 40k i work on that's old gets sent to legends or replaced within 1yr. So New Bikers incoming? we will see...

It looks pretty impressive all stacked up like that. It's also daunting! I at least have a goal to get as much done by the 11th edition. So we will see how long I stay motivated...

I expect to have a 'burnout/crisis moment' scheduled for May, or possibly June. I'll have to check my calendar for availability 😆
