What if I'd told you in, say, 2010, in the wake of the Iraq War and the subsequent political upheaval: "yeah, not only will we not learn our lesson, not only will none of the people who perpetrated this crime be punished ... we're going to do it all over again! Less than 20 years later!"

Epstein Files Are Missing Records About Woman Who Made Claim Against Trump

We seem to be nearing the heart of the story, and a lot will depend on the nerve of the journalists--NPR, the NYT, etc--to stay on this story relentlessly. Will they give it the same kind of coverage they gave Biden's age--i.e., full bore, around the clock, 50 opeds?

**Alt text:** A two-panel comparison graphic. The top panel is titled "Tobacco companies trying to mislead the public" and shows a scanned excerpt from an internal tobacco industry document stating "Doubt is our product since it is the best means of competing with the 'body of fact' that exists in the mind of the general public" β€” a strategy of manufacturing public controversy despite internal acknowledgment that cigarettes are harmful. The bottom panel is titled "Climate Working Group emails" and shows a text excerpt stating "About all I can hope is that what we write will provide sufficient 'reasonable scientific doubt' regarding the science claims in the 2009 TSD, based upon almost 2 decades of new science, to call into question the original reasoning for the EPA Administrator's decision that CO2 presents a threat to human health and welfare." The juxtaposition draws a parallel between tobacco industry disinformation tactics and the climate denial strategy reflected in the DOE Climate Working Group communications.

Ladies, the SAVE Act is a misogynist piece of garbage bill designed to start killing a woman’s right to vote by a thousand paper cuts. This bill is brought to us by the same tech bros who think women vote for too many social programs, like healthcare. Call your Senators.

absolutely.. I had two friends complaining about how medical care they have received recently has increased in cost by almost a factor of 10x. Insulin medication that went from $40 to close to $400. An ER visit copay that went from $100 to $700. The cuts to the ACA tax credits are starting hit us.

With every passing day, the bill known as OBBA passed by Republicans last summer looks more and more dystopian - building an undisciplined paramilitary force to terrorize our communities and an opaque prison system, while giving tax cuts to the billionaire pedophile class…. add what you have seen..

Trump's Climate Supercomputer Plans Threaten US Insurance Market: Actuaries A new letter from the American Academy of Actuaries draws a direct line between the planned dismantling of NCAR and higher homeowners insurance costs for US consumers.

The American Academy of Actuaries warns that dismantling NCAR would degrade the catastrophe models insurers depend on to price climate riskβ€”driving up premiums and threatening coverage availability nationwide.

In 2022, the choice was Fetterman (who just had a stroke) or Dr. Oz. The stroke certainly had an impact. However, Fetterman is still better than Dr. Oz who would have been another Republican clone. He will certainly be primaried in 2028.

Gallup Will No Longer Track Presidential Approval Ratings

No one asked Gallup to display special courage in this moment. Just to continue doing what they'd always done.

And that was too much for them.

I went to an AISC steelmakers conference to network and try to find people who would support a price on carbon. My pitch was that it would benefit cleaner, domestic manufacturing. Nothing but push back against government involvement of any sort - except from the Europeans.
