Please enjoy this collection of vintage mirrored coke trays I found on eBay as part of an insane estate sale 12 years ago and just remembered existed

I'm %100 sure we had anti-vax cranks and other cranks my whole life, and we didn't make policy on their recommendations until very recently.

I disagree in that I don't think accurate or focused criticism has affects how or if we regulate AI, and my reasoning is that we can observe public opinion or social media rhetoric having little to no effect on policy and regulation broadly.

There's a lot of money & power that's lined up behind MAHA. For AI/LLMs, the money & power are lined up behind AI/LLMs. The public has a lot of opinions, but not all those opinions become policy or turned into an entire industry, and I am %100 sure the quality of the conversations is not a factor.

04.03.2026 21:01 — 👍 1    🔁 0    💬 1    📌 0

My skepticism comes from a lot of articles like "so-and-so industry is using AI" and then a lot of other articles like "other industry's use of AI causing problems/does not improve productivity" and I also see AI/LLMs consistently struggle with getting stuff right. AI getting stuff right seems hard.

04.03.2026 20:58 — 👍 3    🔁 0    💬 1    📌 0

This just isn't true. I think if you think about it, you'll understand that "conversations" lead to "regulation" or policy. Broadly, or specifically for vaccines.

As far as AI goes, the major AI/LLM producers lobby the government like crazy, so conversations are not the thing holding up regulation.

04.03.2026 20:51 — 👍 1    🔁 0    💬 1    📌 0

Fatal typo

I'm saying the quality of the arguments of the critics you disagree with are not your problem, or anyone else's problem. I'm pointing out that it's odd that people who think AI is super useful can't ignore the haters. I don't understand what you want from the haters.

04.03.2026 20:46 — 👍 0    🔁 0    💬 1    📌 0

Sure, but the problem with health policy in the US isn't bad conversations, it's deranged and hateful lunatics implementating bad policy.

It's harder for me to get vaccines, now, but it's never been easier to access and use AI. How are bad conversations about AI affecting your ability to use it?

04.03.2026 20:41 — 👍 1    🔁 0    💬 1    📌 0

The quality of the criticism, or lack thereof, doesn't affect whether or not, or how, AI/LLMs are useful.

04.03.2026 20:38 — 👍 1    🔁 0    💬 1    📌 0

Why? Of all the things that should be grounded in reality, why is "criticism of AI" not being grounded in reality more important than health policy not being grounded in reality?

04.03.2026 20:36 — 👍 1    🔁 0    💬 1    📌 0

To both your points: anyone who wants to use AI/LLMs for whatever they want, can, generally for free. To the extent certain critics are getting things wrong about AI/LLMs, that doesn't matter. I don't see the effect of criticism, informed or not, of AI/LLMs affecting anyone's ability to use it.

04.03.2026 20:31 — 👍 1    🔁 0    💬 1    📌 0

I don't understand why critics are a problem. If AI is useful, people will use it in spite of criticism.

Political correctness and the CIA also deliberately marginalized and killed JP Sousa marching band music, too, that's why the kids aren't into that anymore, either.

If you have to pretend to be stupid and gullible to make an argument, it's a bad argument.

Just got this email and didn’t even know I had @moderation.bsky.app blocked but now I don’t lol. But I guess permanent suspension is happening if people block? Yikes.

Looks legit too? Just started my day and wasn’t anticipating this
