If you claim to care about “freedom” but don’t believe it should apply to everyone, then what you really care about is privilege

I’ve seen a lot of people on social media share their experiences with using ChatGPT as their “therapist”. While that’s problematic on many levels, the biggest problem is that many people are in need of mental health support and it isn’t easily accessible or affordable for many of those people.

Truly devout Christians should be actively calling out the hateful rhetoric of Christian Nationalists.

No matter how quickly, frequently, or thoroughly these discussions are approached, it’s important to begin a dialogue that can lead people to a conclusion that authoritarianism is a dangerous power structure that doesn’t truly benefit the people and slowly we will create a united foundation 6/6

Through critical thinking skills which can be explored through questions such as “what if a leader made a widespread decision that negatively impacted you without your input?” Or “how can we ensure that a leader acts in everyone’s best interest?”, we can open the door for recognition of error 5/

It’s important to recognize context when having these discussions, noting that people of different backgrounds might have different lived experiences that have influenced their beliefs. Emphasize that those experiences are valid while suggesting other avenues might better support their needs 4/

Once you’ve created a dialogue, expand on those ideals by using relatable metaphors or connecting their ideas to shared values you might have with them, encouraging discussion of things that might impact those beliefs negatively 3/

An easy way to open a dialogue is by asking open ended questions. Giving the opportunity for self reflection by asking questions like “how important do you believe it is for people to have a say in decisions that affect them?” And “what qualities are important in keeping a society fair for all?” 2/

No one has ever been successfully persuaded to abandon their deeply held beliefs through arguing and mockery. It’s our duty as educated citizens to inform those who have been misguided *gently* about these pressing issues. 1/
