Apple announced the MacBook Neo. But can it handle Bullet Time?

I'll leave the rest of the Matrix jokes to others. I don't need one but might have been tempted if they'd had it in black. And if the keyboard is better than my iPad's add-on keyboard.

An AI-generated image of Green Party leader Zavk Polanski, rendered as a cute plushie

Some people seem to want to vote Green because they like the new party leader, Zack Polanski. For me, the fact that they're a socialist, democratic party that wants to help save as much of the planet and its denizens as possible is a far better set of reasons.

Under the current first-past-the-post voting system, we're gonna need a bigger vote. If only Starmer would wrangle proportional representation, a) there would be a better chance of stopping Reform from getting in, and b) it would probably get Starmer out.

Also, "early" implies that it's coming at some point in the future. I'm pleased that I could at least give some people a heads-up.

I was surprised that I didn't see an announcement anywhere. Now I know why. Also, I would have liked to know that Apple had checked the details of my driving licence and then deleted the scan. All they needed was to confirm my birth date.

Superagers' 'Secret Ingredient' May Be The Growth of New Brain Cells Not only do our brains appear to generate new neurons into adulthood, but those of superagers contain far more brain cells in development than those of healthy peers, new research has found.

And even if and when there is, it won't be checking for 18+, more like 16+ I would have thought.

However, it seems to me that if we're going to have age checking it's easier to do it on the device than on every single app that needs to ask, since the apps can ask the device.

My iPhone just asked me to scan a credit card, driving licence, or ID card to prove that I'm an adult. This is in the developer Beta 2 of iOS 26.4. I've never seen this before and I don't know why they're asking this. I'm in the UK and as far as I know there's no age checking yet.

No, autistic people are not β€˜mind blind’ – here’s why The idea that autistic people lack a β€˜theory of mind’ has shaped ASD research for 40 years. The evidence never supported it – and it’s time to move on.

Theory: Some scientist cannot detect whether autistic individuals have a theory of mind. Refinement: Or they cannot allow themselves to detect it.
