Got home from Sheff Jazz gig to find that the book I ordered from the estimable @longbarrowpress.bsky.social this afternoon had been delivered by the publisher in person, with a handwritten thank you note. Looking forward to reading Pete Green's Hemisphere, having loved his Sheffield Almanac.

I mean, I wouldn't go anyway, even if I had the money (the photos make it look like a vast corporate creche, and I'd probably spend three days hiding behind the rented scenery), but the 'catering contractor clause' would be a deal-breaker

When I lost interest in narrative, I lost the stories of my own life, I couldn’t fill the holes in the plot. I started to tell the stories again, piecing them together from what others had told me, their remembering was my remembering. The telling is all.
