Whiskey had his first vet visit with me today and got diagnosed with “Healthy Kitten”! ☺️

And I got some more input on how to help train him and work with him, looking like art streams will be starting up again this Thurs/Fri! 😤

I’m gonna make sure he’s such a polite boy 😤

he’s starting to ask for lap time by just standing on his hind legs and gently pawing my leg, and every time I’m picking him up and putting him on my lap for cuddles so he knows that’s 100% the right answer

He was being a mild terror past few days w jumping on my lap unprompted to scramble onto my desk, and being just a tiny bit more firm with tossing him off the desk and only giving him attention if he politely asked to be picked up onto my lap got IMMEDIATE results after 45 mins of being consistent 😤

I was so tired last night but he actually slept on my lap for a full hour while I was talking on call, laughing, and doing some computer stuff 🥺

My parents convinced me to use my 10+ years of practical horse training knowledge on him instead of listening to the internet and got IMMEDIATE results

Took my parents sitting down with me for 2 hours tonight after they babysat him to explain what they saw and what they did in response to his wild feral baby shenanigans he tried with them, and coaching me how to respond.

But FINALLY I got a taste of why his breeder paired him with me as an ESA 🥹

Well, it took almost 4 days, MULTIPLE breakdowns due to stress/OCD/autism/lack of sleep all pummeling my ass, & my parents being so so SO patient and offering me so much time to sit down & help me understand his behaviors & how to respond appropriately

and finally he slept soundly on my lap 🥹

Heated Rivalry is a nuanced thing but lately the emotion that's coming out on top is that corpos are allowed to feed us sex and queerness through its eyes but my artist friends are getting their groceries snatched out of their hands by those same entities

I have a little sleeping cube he'll be able to use but it's currently his bathroom sleeping spot and I don't want to move it out here yet bc he's in the bathroom for bedtime right now!!

He wasn't actually causing a problem for me until I picked up my pen and he wanted to play with it 😭

chat how cooked is my ability to use my computer by allowing him to do this LMAO he finally quieted down and is crashing after almost two hours of screaming and demanding attention from me

48 hours in and today’s finally feeling like a normal day with a cat instead of being anxiety ridden and paranoid 🥹

He ran around with zoomies batting at his toys while I cleaned up and did dishes, and now he’s conked out again inside his currently empty litter box cabinet I made for him!!

He's literally the size of one of my sneakers he's so little right noww 😭 I can barely pet him with my full hand!!

It's only been two days and he's already demanding being picked up to be in my lap and following me from room to room. I'm already doing better today thankfully!!

That was me last night, I kept getting up every hour to check on him because I was so worried smth was wrong or he'd gotten into smth. 😭

Today has been a lot better with having him in the living room with me, and he just got put to bed in the bathroom since he got WAYYY to overstimulated at 1am 😅

had to recruit my parents to come over to help calm me down & supervise him for an hour so i could sleep bc i was just so emotional and paranoid I was doing smth wrong for my first ever 100% my own cat 😭

he's currently asleep in his carrier behind me, i must be doing smth right though 🥹

i absolutely adore this little munchkin and he's going to have a forever home with me, and I grew up with cats constantly in my household, but MANNN no amount of internet research prepared me for how intense the pet parent emotions / kitten blues would be in the first few days 🫣

Actually letting him out of the bathroom tonight but my new pet parent anxiety is so high atm I would not be able to focus on streaming so still off 😅 But he’s exploring a bit now!!

No stream tonight or tomorrow, I’m still at the beck and call of Whiskey helping him settle and can’t really sit at my computer for more then an hour atm 😅

Hopefully by next week when he’s out of the bathroom I’ll be able to stream again!!

Night one with the baby passed, I did end up just swapping to sleeping in the bathroom with him so I didn’t need to keep getting up every hour to check on him 😭 baby whiskey might be getting a crate or enclosed playpen in my room for night time

Made it home about 3 hours ago, and he’s already eaten some wet food, used the litterbox, had a small play session after he discovered the fringe on the fleece blanket I was sitting on, and we’re back to being all tuckered out 🥺

I’m genuinely so impressed with him handling this so well, testament to his breeder for prioritizing breeding for health first, personality second, looks third, and clearly a lot of socializing and love. 🥺

About an hour away from home now and he’s just been sleeping for most of the trip, and even is starting to roll onto his side and uncurl 🥺

Had one small bit of hissing when we took a rest stop break, and started crying a bit after that, but he calmed back down so good after some gentle petting!!

I’m so in love, he’s now calmed down enough he barely woke up or turned to look at me when I opened the top to pet him like I’ve been doing every so often ;o;
And his color is called a Bangkok Mocha Burmese!! It’s a newer coat color that seemingly only one US breeder is working on researching!
