Maybe not the typical epic fantasy people would think of but both Stargun Messenger by @darbyharn.bsky.social and Bloody Spade (& Bleeding Heart) by @bmwillows.bsky.social felt "epic" to me in their own ways while also succesfully conveying intimate, character-centric moments.

My mother passed away yesterday morning.
It’s been a very long fight, and that’s who she was. A fighter. Mom fought for everything she had as a single mom, a nurse, a caregiver, and an advocate for others who were in as rough a spot as she was or worse.
