TX is 40% white, 40% Latino and 12% black. CA is 40% Latino, 35% white, and 15% Asian. Whites in TX are more conservative than CA but they aren’t even the largest race in TX anymore.

Texas is about 32 million and GA, NC, & VA combined about 31 million. We’re not just talking about one senator, it’s about growing the party. Dems flipped the senate seat in AZ before they flipped the state.

TX has a demographic comparable to CA. Whether you like it or not, Dems have to compete in TX next decade because electoral power is going to shift from CA, NY, and IL to TX.

Virginia didn’t just shift, democrats made the invest. Texas is larger Georgia, Virginia and North Carolina combined. Once you flip Texas, it’s game over for republicans.

If you want to talk demographics, Texas has almost identical demographics to California. Like Georgia and North Carolina, the white people moving in are college educated from blue states like California.

So again, it’s not about winning in 2026 but building the party in 2030 and beyond. Before Georgia flipped, Stacy Abrams made it competitive.

Yes because it’s important. Big blue states like CA, NY and IL are going to lose seats. The electoral college is going to tilt even more in Republican favor if you don’t compete in Texas.

Georgia was red until it wasn’t. The fact is, come next census, there is going to be a major realignment and states like Texas and Florida stand to pick up a lot of seats. You need to start working on Texas now.
