I was honored to receive a Public Service Partner award from St. Nick's Alliance last week. They do such important work serving NYers in need, & I'm proud to: be their partner in government, allocate State funding for accessibility upgrades, and celebrate their 50th anniversary!

I’m hosting a Senior Resource Fair on Thursday, Dec. 4th from 10 AM - 12 PM at Jacob Riis Settlement House. My office will be present along with various partners and amazing resources to help with, home healthcare, legal services, transportation needs, SNAP benefits, housing questions, and more.

Trump’s EO to stop states from regulating AI is a direct threat to our safety and to workers, and could put the necessary guardrails we have already started building at risk. NY is stepping up to protect everyday people by passing common sense legislation & it should be signed.

The MTA just announced record paratransit ridership, representing what accessible infrastructure makes for NYers. I’m proud to partner w/ the MTA to: increase transit access, fund the Capital Plan, & protect programs like congestion pricing that make these improvements possible.

Kicked off SOMOS, Inc. 2025 with @nysut.bsky.social panel on AI moderated by @sengonzalezny.bsky.social. The number one issue that states should focus on is regulating surveillance & privacy followed by the regulation of chat box usage by children under 13.

I partnered with @sengonzalezny.bsky.social, @mta.info, and Queensbridge Houses for an Access-A-Ride training at Riis Settlement. Seniors learned about the Access-A-Ride program, including tech support on the MTA app. My team also distributed government resources and connected with neighbors.

Today marks the federal government shutdown as the longest in history.

NYC residents: Despite a federal court forcing the Trump Administration to fund SNAP in November, benefits will be delayed due to Trump's actions.

Almost 3 million New Yorkers could lose food assistance come Nov. 1 when the federal government does not reload SNAP benefits cards. This Republican shutdown will exacerbate our food insecurity crisis. That's why I’m calling for state dollars to be used to plug the gap with our rainy-day fund.

Today I joined @governor.ny.gov, @zohrankmamdani.bsky.social, @sengianaris.bsky.social, and colleagues for the announcement of a $5 million investment by the Governor in the clubhouse.

This will make this clubhouse the largest in NYS! Excited for Astoria families!

I was proud to join the Governor and some of my colleagues in the legislature at her Hispanic Heritage Month Reception this week. The beautiful art at the Hispanic Society Museum was the perfect background to celebrate culture, diversity, & our hard work to make NY a liveable city for all people.
