Fun fact: most people who harm your fellow Americans are other fellow Americans.

Nothing the US President says can be taken as confirmation of anything.

And sometimes it means finding out that your Great-uncle and great-aunt became step siblings five years after they were married.

Trump doesn't struggle to read - he doesn't even make the attempt in the first place.

Is there anyone more fearful and fragile than US law enforcement officers?

You were probably going less than 20% over the speed limit. At least, that's the most common cause of that sort of thing up here...

Remember when China's Social Score was a sign of how bad they were?

For one of my room parties, someone brought Meet the Feebles.

Jimmy Chin did a short comic about it.

Canada's already providing that service to the US (see the 60 Minutes CECOT story for example)

If you think people should have an id to vote, then provide the states the funds necessary to send ids to everyone on the rolls.

The objection isn't about the ids per se. The objection is about the blatant attempts to make *getting* an id as onerous as possible.

He's so sure an AI can do all his film-making, he should get the AI to do the concept as well.

Also, he should save money by firing himself, since he's not contributing anything to the project.

That's not a demand, that's the Fourth Amendment.

Correction: died *from* conducting one of his works, not *while*

The composer Jean-Baptiste Lully died while conducting one of his works. This was before conductors used batons - he would beat time on the floor with a staff. He accidentally banged it down on his toe, and it got infected, then gangrenous.

Had antibiotics been available, he'd've survived.

A) What does that have to do with the original question?
B) The original question.

This is theft. I can see why Donald Trump and the people who follow him might get the two confused.

I also had to transfer some stock, from the same purchase we'd both made back then, to myself. It took me two days, start-to-finish, because we asked our accountant for advice and he didn't get back to us until the next day.

We recently had to transfer ownership of some stock from my partner (under her former married name) to herself (under her current name, which is also her birth name).

It took weeks, several 35+-year-old documents, and a Notary Public to get it done.

It wasn't hard, but it was frustrating.

Fun Fact: if your law enforcement doesn't work if you're required to get warrants, you're doing it wrong and need to start over.

They have to assume that the future will be Trump ish, because assuming a return to "normal" will be disastrous if another Trump type gets in power.

Isn't one of the traditions about women the idea that they have no place in leadership?

The old "The King isn't the problem, it's those evil advisers" approach.

The mixing of English, Scottish, and Irish was the first part of US multiculturalism.

The DOJ can't fight corruption when it is one of the participants in the corruption.

Might be time to consider the benefits of having four branches of government.

I once was doing volunteer security for a Star Trek con, in TOS uniform. I was posted at the entrance to the main hall for George Takei's appearance and got to greet him as he headed in.

This is where other countries need to step up. If they aren't profitable for private companies, then develop tgen publicly.

If they could understand songs when they're in English, we wouldn't see so many stories about Republicans bemoaning the discovery that Bruce Springsteen, Twisted Sister, Rage Against the Machine, &c, are not right-wing.
