Text on a gray green background with super imposed trees reads Burgum claims: we’re in a Cold War built around an AI arms race if we lose the AI arms race we’ve lost everything to “our adversaries“ (which is apparently everyone). Our response: AI is not everything. It has huge energy and water draw, which is contributing to manufacture the energy crisis. He keeps talking about one of the potential mitigation solutions? Ironically solar panels. AI is also highly fallible and no substitute for skilled intelligent staff who do far more than “answer questions“ come on Burgum do better.

Burgum claims people are “celebrating” when species are added to the endangered species list. he referred to it as “hotel California” because once species are added, “they never leave.” Below the text clipart of a brown bear. Below the bear is more text that reads our response: no one is celebrating another species being endangered. ESA listing protect species from going extinct like the bald eagle species rarely come off the endangered species list due to issues like habitat, loss, degradation fragmentation, and under funding/understaffing of the agencies task with caring for them (*cough* us fish and wildlife service *cough*)

Text on a gray green background with super imposed trees reads Burgum claims: we are staffing up! Our response: DOI is bullying people out the door and replacing non-partisan staff with political appointee. There are credible report reports of a large reduction enforce happening as early as next week with major consolidation efforts confirmed. Text on a Gray Green background background with super imposed trees reads Burgum claims: logging will reduce forest fires. Below the text is clipart of someone cutting down a tree with a chainsaw below. The clipart is more text that reads our response: timber that is high value to the logging industry is not the same as what is removed in fuels reduction. “High value timber” is typically older growth which is essential to for health and is more resistant to fire. Cutting these trees increases fire risk. in the lower left corner there is clipart of trees on fire and in the lower right corner there is a firefighter who appears to be putting out the on fire trees.

We’re hoping this clears stuff up.

Other wild moments included:
-Claiming Japan lost World War II because “they ran out of energy.”
-Claiming overpopulation isn’t a threat because wealth brings a lower birth rate.
-A slide that said “MAP BABY MAP.”
-Ending by blasting Higher by Creed.

On April 9th, Secretary Doug Burgum held an “All Hands Meeting” for all employees in the Department of the Interior. This meeting was going to highlight the work that the department has done “make the transition to the Trump administration so smooth.” ....right. He made some WILD claims.

It's time to speak up for fired public lands employees! ✊

Illegally fired staff at Department of the Interior (including NPS) have NOT been reinstated, even though Forest Service staff have been

Let's see if *public lands* leadership actually listens to the *public* 👀

@murray.senate.gov why are you not protecting your federal workers? Musks requesting for federal workers to list out their weekly accomplishments is asinine and insinuates that we are not hard workers. You’ve got to do better by us or your job will be next on the block
