If memory serves, I was definitely into comics (Beano & Dandy) between 9 & 13, and not into 'proper' books, as a girl a the end of the 1950's. Became an avid reader later on, and now have full bookshelves in almost all rooms. I don't think we should be a) surprised or b) worried.

This is so true. It was obvious to anyone who knew anything about how being in Europe helped to catch criminals across borders, because of having access to Europol and other EU agencies. But Brexiteers chose to ignore this and now are stridently demanding that we compound this by leaving the ECHR.
