Warning UK at risk of being pulled into illegal war
Why is Keir Starmer utterly incapable of saying no to Donald Trump?
Our national security requires us not to be dragged into illegal wars.
The Prime Minister is making us less safe. Did we learn nothing from Iraq?

A dark, dramatic political campaign graphic from Green Party NI. The background shows a close-up photograph of Donald Trump in a white USA baseball cap and dark suit, lit in teal-green tones against a near-black background, with a serious, downward expression. In bold white capital letters at the top: “TRUMP’S WAR / NETANYAHU’S WAR / NOT OURS” — with “NOT OURS” in the largest text. To the lower right, in smaller white italic-style text: “A desperate president. A genocidal ally. And a British Prime Minister hiding behind ‘defensive operations’ while British planes fly in a war zone, without a vote, without a mandate, without shame.” The final phrase is in bold. At the bottom centre, the Green Party logo — a stylised leaf above the words “greenparty” in lowercase teal text. Below that, in small white text: “Published & Promoted by Green Party NI, PO Box 369, Bangor, BT20 9FJ.”
“Tonight civilians in Iran and Palestine are paying the price for decisions made by those who will never face the consequences. That has to stop. De-escalation now. Diplomacy now.” — Mal O’Hara, Green Party NI Leader

This isn't an attempt to free the Iranian people. Just like it wasn't an attempt to free Venezuelans last month or Iraqis in 2003.
The American empire takes what it wants and murders who it wants, aided by supine sidekicks like the UK.

With the Gorton and Denton win, our opponents have been working overtime to misrepresent Green Party drugs policy. Heroin in corner shops? Crack for kids?
Let's clear this up. 🧵

Hannah Spencer MP celebrates at a Green Party election night event. She is smiling broadly and taking a selfie, her arm raised high holding a pink smartphone. She has long blonde hair and is wearing a bright pink jacket over a yellow top. Behind her, a crowd of supporters are bathed in green light, holding ‘Vote Green’ signs. The Green Party logo appears at the top of the image. Bold white text reads: ‘She’s only gone and done it!’ Below in italic text: ‘Working hard should get you a nice life.’ Further text reads: ‘Congratulations Hannah Spencer MP, Gorton & Denton Manchester.’ At the bottom, a link reads: https://greenpartyni.org/join
🎉 She’s only gone and done it! Huge congratulations to Hannah Spencer, our new MP for Gorton & Denton Manchester! 💚

Reform on 13% of the registered vote seems about right and this is with all the major media and parties painting them as THE alternative
As always, far-right support is limited and its mainstreaming comes from the mainstream elite who try to use it as a distraction from their failures

So the candidate who left school at 16 with no A-Levels and who's spent her whole adult life vocational, manual jobs beat the ivory tower academic turned cushy media pundit, but you can be sure we'll still get plenty more casual description of the latter as "white working class".

A graphic in Green Party NI’s navy blue and mint green colour scheme. A halftone-filtered image of a group of people forms the background. Bold white text in the lower half reads ‘NO HUMAN BEING IS ILLEGAL’. The Green Party logo sits below the text, with the legal imprint ‘Published & Promoted by Green Party NI, PO Box 369, Bangor, BT20 9FJ’ at the bottom.
In Northern Ireland, we know what it costs when labels replace humanity. We’ve lived it.
When politicians call people “illegal migrants”, they’re not being neutral, they’re using language that human rights bodies have condemned as inaccurate and dehumanising.

Green Party NI promotional graphic with a photograph of rugged coastal cliffs and a Mussenden Temple Castlerock at sunset, with a calm sea in the foreground. The Green Party logo appears at the top. Large bold white text reads: ‘A Petition Doesn’t Rewrite the Programme for Government.’ Smaller body text states: ‘Alliance allowed a rollback of hard-won environmental commitments when it mattered most — at the Programme for Government negotiating table. A petition is not a substitute for a red line. Don’t be greenwashed.’ The graphic includes the Green Party NI address and a link to greenpartyni.org/join.
Alliance launching an EPA petition is bold.
Bold because:
✅ EPA was in New Decade New Approach (they negotiated)
✅ EPA was in their 2022 manifesto
❌They signed a Programme for Government without it
✅ Their minister runs DAERA - the dept that would create it

I’m totally here for a radical overhaul of driving culture.
It is weirdly, so normal that people in vehicles feel it is acceptable to drive fast close to people walking or cycling along a road.
Do they have any idea how threatening their behaviour is?

Plans for AI data centres suggest 50 gigawatts of demand — more than the UK’s national peak of 45.
Alarm bells should be ringing. Are we powering genuine public good — or hype? The environmental cost could be vast.

Executive Ministers must work with Deaf and Disabled people to create a strategy that will truly improve our lives.

British Gas could pay every worker an extra £35,000 and still make a profit.
Shell could pay every worker an extra £300,000 and still make a profit.

Green Party NI social media graphic with a stone/concrete textured background. At the top in large bold dark teal and black text the headline reads ‘NEW LEADER. OLD PLAYBOOK. WRONG TARGET.’ displayed on three separate lines for emphasis. Below this is a collage of two overlapping documents: on the left the Sunday Life newspaper front page with the headline ‘CONMAN GIVEN 770 YEARS TO REPAY £40K BENEFITS FRAUD STILL LIVING THE HIGH LIFE’ with a red banner reading ‘CONVICTED SCAMMER DOCKED’; overlapping this on the right is a Facebook post from Jon Burrows MLA calling for a fundamental reset in Northern Ireland politics and questioning the £1 per week repayment terms, alongside a partially visible inside page of the Sunday Life with the headline ‘Ex-soldier from Enniskillen jets off to Spain and enjoys spa breaks while thousands in welfare cash lands in his account each month.’ At the bottom of the graphic is a blue wave design containing the Green Party logo in white and green, and the legal text ‘Published & Promoted by Green Party NI, PO Box 369, Bangor, BT20 9FJ.’
£40k benefits fraud. Front page outrage.
Meanwhile millions in tax avoidance? Silence.

Political pay should reflect responsibility and delivery - not surge ahead while nurses are understaffed and workers are told there’s no money.
We’re calling for this rise to be paused until public sector workers get fair settlements and Stormont proves it is delivering for the people it serves.

Five meaningful laws in over a year. One of those five was setting up the board that just recommended they receive a 27% pay rise.
Does anyone know another group of workers getting 27%? Should anyone working at this pace receive it?

Waiting lists are soaring, classrooms are overstretched and families are choosing between heating and eating.
And Stormont’s response? Since February 2024, MLAs have passed just 10 pieces of legislation, 4 of them basic budget bills.

Photograph of parliament buildings at stormont with graphics overlayed asking is a 27% pay rise for MLAs fair?
‼️ Stop the 27% MLA pay rise.
NI civil servants accepted 9% over nearly two years. Teachers and healthcare workers fought for single-digit rises. Many public sector workers are still waiting for anything fair.
