Hallownest in Hollow Knight's got its own problems and its own overreaching antagonist, and Pharloom in Silksong's issues are completely isolated from that - other than Hornet, who came from Hallownest

With different kingdom races and origins n whatnot

If that makes sense!

I'd say they're very good standalone stories with enough building for either main character and kingdom in the game they're in, since you discover a majority of Hornet's proper history IN Silksong

But there's worldbuilding and details isolated to either game :o

I know that cult au's popular on the tl- If it helps, Silksong's pretty much that kind of plot on a grand kingdom scale :D

Hollow Knight is definitely a MUCH better play overall, but Silksong's plot is just so remarkably tragic

In Deltarune terms, I'd consider her the equivalent to a darkner made of a pinned insect specimen on a board.
