Actually, ZUN used AI to generate the spell backgrounds for all new characters back in UDoALG as well. Hisami's for example has this weird blur and distortion that makes the AI usage really obvious.

even if websites add something colorful or cartoonish it's always these minimalistic artworks of people with noodle arms that feel so icky and corporate

some people are bored as hell 🥀

ye AI is still being used in the full version, mainly in the stage and spell backgrounds. there is anti-AI commentary in the plot, though him using it for the characters that aren't entirely involved with the anti-AI-ness is a shame, kinda makes it like an excuse more than anything

The difficulty with some of the textures comes from uncertainty - are the textures used just strange-looking, or are they meshed with AI? We believed the dragon was complex enough for it to not be a genAI asset.

We went through more of the assets. As of now, the title screen has been changed.

even though I was unsuccessful in making patterns for every single day, I'm very happy with how the patterns I've made turned out! I believe I'll be able to dedicate more time and effort into the other projects that are in my backburner. Perhaps you'll see something playable from me in March?

some of you have expressed interest in playing the patterns that I've made so far. I appreciate the interest and support, but as for now, I will not make the script available for play

this does NOT mean I'll let it rot in eternity in my folders! one day you'll get to play these patterns, and more!

it turns out December is prime midterm season in Japan, and i'm slumped with so much work nowadays that it's difficult for me to find any time to dedicate to Danmakufu or anything fun. for the sake of my mental health and remaining creative juices, I'm prematurely postponing Danmakufu December

She uses her supernatural skills to *summon* the supernatural. A spell that has you constantly on the move.

You'd think a girl her age would stop playing with toys like that.

Ferocity "Tangleclaw Werewolf"

A pack of bloodthirsty hounds looking for their next human prey. It seems like only the red wolf's ambush can directly harm you.

With such high speed, you'd think the wolves are actually on fire.

Dodging countless bullets AND fighting off hypothermia makes for a killer combination.

Thankfully, her ice crystals' patterns can be memorized. The other danmaku aims to hit you while you're frozen.

A barrage of ghosts and danmaku. It's almost like the spirits are doing a little dance for you.

She finds the taste of the red spirits rather bitter. However, her light can swap the colors around.

Miasma "Resentment of Wiltered Flowers"

Her fairy doll friends help her spread petals and poison all around the screen. A pretty nasty trick, but you can shoot some of them down.

Don't get too close to her. She doesn't like hugs.
