I guess my point is they're showing off different mechanics. Arceus was basically a total overhaul so it had more to show off, but kind of was focused on the updated catching (which is really fun!) and ZA seems to be focusing on the updated action style battling (which I also find fun and engaging!)

It had a lot of life in each explorable zone which was fascinating and definitely lost some in only having just Lumiose to explore I can agree, but the loop was catch a bunch, battle or challenge someone for the traversal pokemon, beat the guardian, repeat until you get to the end game

I'm going to reserve judgement on ZA until I get further, but honestly the loop could be said about Arceus too, except for you had to catch 1000 of the same Pokémon which was less gripping for me, but don't get me wrong, Arceus is phenomenal, but I didn't beat it until this last year /

I'm currently doing the same for Eevee 🤣 I haven't progressed, but I have started doing the battles to get some cash since it doesn't spawn at night in the area I'm in

Tbh a lot of my faves in this pool are second stage so I kinda regret evolving my starter but I wanted to be able to use the mega and experience it. It's neat to be able to have options to mega but it definitely takes away from building my team so I'm planning on trying to just use 1 at a time

I love playing with this little 3D printed guy and posing him for reference but his hip joints have loosened too much to actually be able to pose him standing on his own or anything midair effectively 😔
