This is a real image of what a new solar system looks like.
The light from the central star is blocked, so it's possible to see the lanes of cleared-up dust around it.
And that small, yellowish blob at lower right?
That's a whole, brand new planet.

Organizations, including Voice of Witness, have had funding terminated by federal agencies.

This is a view looking down on a portion of Saturn's rings.
Find the white structures along the edge of the ring, near the top.
Now look at their shadows, cast on the rings themselves just below them.
Those white structures are giant towers of icy ring particles, some rising more than 2 km.

Years ago, in an undergrad class, we read Robert Paxtonβs Anatomy of Fascism. At the time, I couldnβt understand how the intelligensiaβthe scholars, the educated, the socially and politically conscious people of a nationβwere rendered powerless in the face of Nazism.
I understand now.
