Gwen (Enchanted) Knighton

A harp made of dark wood with 22 brass strings and a head in the shape of a bird.

Taranis is a 22-string harp with a full, dark sound. He was made by William MacDonald in 2016 from wind-felled oak in the Isle of Skye. He is the only harp of his kind, and I’m so happy he is coming home with me to Scotland.

Do any of my friends have resources on particularly Scottish folk horror?

Arcadia is what I’d call over-spun, and it rolls up to such an extent I probably won’t buy it again.

There was little wear on the leg and foot, and each heel took about an hour to reknit.

The yellow and green socks are a pattern called Indiana Jones which is in a Charlene Schurch book, and the yarn is Sheepjes Arcadia.

Note: the rainbow socks are made with an old Trekking colour way that isn’t available any more, so rather than reknitting the socks altogether (the heels were more hole than heel!) I just picked up stitches around the short row heel and reknitted in Sheepjes Arcadia grey.

Two pairs of socks! One is a green and yellow tweed, and the other is a rainbow stripe with newly mended grey heels.

New socks on the go! A brown heather is paired with a green-to-rose long stripe, positioned over an apple Magic Keyboard.

Completed yellow & green tweedy sox, plus finished mending heels on rainbow sox yesterday! Because I always have to have Sox on the go, I started the Knitty Peerie Plaid Sox yesterday since I now seem to be obsessed with small slip stitch colour patterns. The wool for the new ones is Drops Fabel.

I’m still not OK, and we’re coming up on two years. It was the disingenuousness of it all, really, that broke me first. And then, it was the people who said they were my friend just ghosting me as if I’d never been. I’m still not OK.
