Smaller, better creatives that really need the money often dont even get a look by a lot of people. The weird and unique, small scale apparel, gear and items seem to be mostly ignored for the sake of conformity

Furry always used to be differnt to mainsteam culture but now its all bled togehter. The point about brands is quite important, furry does have a brand problem in a sence i think.
I see it when sitting behind a dealers table at cons, the doors open and the masses flood to the big brand names.

This does a good job of verbalising why I seem to have quite a bit of apathy for Furry a lot of the time.
It's still important to me but it does feel very much a product of overconsumerism and conformity now
