$1400 to go to keep this Minneapolis immigrant family in need safe, housed, and out of eviction court! Can you help make this happen for them tonight?

I live in Minnesota and I want the federal government to stop trying to kill us. And hurt us. I want them to stop attacking us.
It sucks.
Weβre just trying to live our lives and take care of each other and we donβt deserve all this.
I kid around sometimes here but Iβm not kidding now.
btw for trans women to offer this kind of practical warning and sympathy is a serious mitzvah and we cis women really owe it to them (and to ourselves!) to step up our solidarity in kind

Iβm raising rent relief funds for Minneapolis immigrant families affected by ICE.
Donations are down, but ICE is very much still here and thereβs still so much need. Can you help?

Mayor Frey refused to support a unanimous call from the city council to ask Gov. Walz for an eviction moratorium to support our most vulnerable neighbors and now everyone's having to crowdfund rent.

Don't congratulate John Roberts or the Supreme Court.
Congratulate Rick Woldenberg, the Chicago-area leader of Learning Resources, an educadtional toy company that had the courage to sue the president of the United States to save his family business.
As well as everyone else who stepped up.

Doron is absolutely correct: if this is "ending," I need to know that the ending looks like no feds in my city abducting my neighbors, and the neighbors who have been taken returned to their homes.
It also means prosecuting the agents who shot Renee, Alex, and Julio, who was shot in the leg.
This guy speaks for everyone in Minnesota.
Iβd rather be talking about tech too!
amplifying this as well. an aspect of the surge style is to overwhelm us & exhaust us.
we also have so many of us plugged in helping in some way, shape or form so it is more than okay to unplug a bit, get rest, find something with joy, etc. knowing this is a long haul.
Please don't think anything is back to normal in Minnesota. Nothing is normal.
I know weβre strong. Donβt know if itβs enough.
If you don't live here, your Minnesota friends may tell you that it's going to be okay but I think a lot of that is them being nice so you won't worry.
It's bad here.

US Olympic Curling Team member speaks out against ICE:
"I'm proud to represent Team USA. But we'd be remiss if we didn't mention what's going on in Minnesota and what a tough time it's been. What's happening is wrong. There's no shades of gray."
Like 75% of the US Olympic curlers are from Minnesota. A lot of them curl out of two clubs in Saint Paul, one club is in Frogtown, a neighborhood that has been very heavily targeted by ICE. These curlers are good neighbors.

Literally everyone is suffering in different ways, even if it's "just" a badly twisted ankle rather than a kidney stone or a full-on heart attack. The staff are working as hard as they can but energy and resources are dwindling.

08.02.2026 23:10 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Just a quick update from the Twin Cities. (Please forgive the unsolicited message). THINGS ARE NOT BETTER IN MINNEAPOLIS. The media is mostly moving on, Trump is focused on other stuff, BUT NOTHING HAS CHANGED ON THE GROUND. More than 2,000 DHS thugs continue to roam the streets, abducting people 24/7, assaulting legal observers with impunity, and routinely denying 1st, 4th, and 5th amendment rights. Drones and helicopters are overhead every day. Hundreds and hundreds of terrified families have not left their homes since mid-December ... relying on the community to bring them food and help with rent and other necessities. (Those people are NOT violent drug cartel sex offending murderers, as DHS would tell you. Most are legal residents or citizens.) If anything, things have just become more stressful and intractable (think trench warfare as a suitable metaphor): The resistance is better organized and numerous, but DHS has become more clever and better at disguise... and the county sheriff's office is increasingly supporting them . Do not let anyone tell you that Homans (the new person in charge of the occupation) is making anything better. Do not let anyone tell you that 700 ICE agents leaving the city has made much of a difference; the remaining force (again, ~2,000) is still larger than the entire city's police force (which is legally unable to do anything). Please call your congressional reps ... especially if there is any chance the administration might listen to them.
A desperate plea sent to me by a Minneapolis resident who's been on the front lines since the beginning of the ICE occupation:

I would really, really urge you: if this is not your work, if you have not been in this stuff for years, stifle your urge to speak over the folks actually running these groups, actually putting these protests together, actually responsible for keeping people safe.
You are speaking out of turn.
