As we watch war unleashed on Iran, we pray that innocent civilians are protected.

My thoughts are with Iranian families, who suffer under the tyranny of a brutal dictatorship and now face the horrors of war.

British Columbia’s Iranian community is strong. We stand with them in solidarity and a shared hope for peace, freedom, and safety for their families and friends.

Great discussions with the @ibabc.bsky.social - including President, Amrit Sidhu.

Whether you rent or own, home insurance is one of the best ways to protect your family, it covers the costs of repairing your home and can cover accommodation and expenses if you’re placed under an evacuation order. 🏑

Today is #PinkShirtDay. Today we must recommit and say bullying has no place in our schools, our workplaces, or our communities. Kindness is not weakness. Inclusion is not optional. Respect is not negotiable.
Let’s choose empathy. Let’s choose courage. Let’s choose each other. πŸ’—

Today, on Pink Shirt Day, I’m reminded that creating a safe and welcoming community is something we all share responsibility for. πŸ‘š

Bullying - whether in the home, at school, online, or in the workplace - causes real harm. Choose kindness instead! πŸ’—

Following my meeting with Minister @kellyrichmondbc.bsky.social a couple of weeks ago, I committed to coming to the Sumas Prairie to see firsthand the impacts of the recent flooding.

Today, I was on the ground to follow through on that commitment.

Yesterday, we got the assurance we came to Ottawa for - the federal government committed to partnering with us on flood mitigation for the Sumas Prairie.

We look forward to the critical work ahead to protect communities, infrastructure, food security, the economy and supply chains.

The #FraserValley is a lifeline for B.C. and Western Canada. This trip to Ottawa is to receive commitment from the federal government and help build resiliency to prevent devastating events like the flooding we saw in December and in 2021.

Flooding in the Fraser Valley affects critical infrastructure, the economy and supply chains on a national scale and requires collaboration between all levels of government. We need federal partnership. (3/3)

When the sumas prairie floods, it doesn’t just affect people in Abbotsford. It affects food production, transportation routes, and stops the flow of goods. (2/3)

When the call comes, BC is always ready to answer.

Today, BC Wildfire Service personnel are headed to Australia, to help our long time partners fight back against the wildfire situation in the state of Victoria.

We wish our crew a safe and successful deployment.
