Auschwitz stands as a harrowing symbol of the systematic murder of millions of Jews by Nazi Germany. 80 years after its liberation it’s a stark reminder to stand up for humanity and justice - always. That which must never be repeated must also never be forgotten. #NeverForget

I am also thinking of my grandparents Margarete and Robert who survived the horrors of selection at Auschwitz. Margarete was liberated at Mauthausen in May 1945. Robert escaped while on the death march and was picked up by a Red Army Unit a few days before they reached Auschwitz 80 years ago today.

A privilege to attend the official International Holocaust Rememberance Day commemoration of the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office. Today, I remember my grandfather’s brother Hans Alfred Mühlstein, his sister Anna, her husband Viktor Hahn and their son Jiří - all murdered in Auschwitz.

Another glimmer of hope as we are relieved to welcome Karina Ariev, Daniella Gilboa, Naama Levy, & Liri Albag home after 477 days in captivity. We pray for their full recovery & hold their families in our hearts.
