i’m tired of watching creative people burn themselves out in pursuit of formalist myth making

i’m tired of my industry friends from big operations get crushed and worn out from building someone else’s vision

success is a diceroll, you may as well have fun and figure out what’s sustainable for you

Being an adult is about holding multiple conflicting thoughts in your head to give nuance

All of these things can be true:
- Hunter Biden broke the law.
- Hunter Biden traded on his last name to make money.
- Hunter Biden’s actions were exploited and wildly exaggerated by unscrupulous Republicans in an effort to damage his father.

since we’re now in the golden age of Crybullyism i think it’s worth reiterating: if you actually have strong principles it means they don’t change based on whether or not people like you.

people who say “i tried to be X but you forced me to be Y” were always Y, and now they’re just gaslighting you.

impressive Bill Gates was the subject of a brutal NYT report about how he met multiple times with post-conviction Jeffrey Epstein, his wife of 27yrs divorced him over it, then he produced some Netflix hagiographies of himself, gave $50 million to the Harris campaign and everyone just forgot about it

I played that model of guitar a few days ago. It felt and sounded great.
