It depends on the state. If he were convicted in Florida, he could not vote. But convicted in New York, Florida follows the rules of the state of conviction. So he can vote as long as he's not incarcerated.

Jeff Yass donated quite a bit to Trump election. But nothing close to Musk's $275 million or so. Yass may be worth $45 billion or so these days, but he probably doesn't have enough to buy Tik-Tok outright... estimates are as high as $50 billion for a Tik-Tok US split.

Musk is likely to be pro-China in all things and likely pushed Trump to this. If Musk wants to rescue Tik-Tok, he's got the cash.

Tesla is functionally a Chinese company -- 45% of their business in China. Musk is not going to go against what Xi wants.
