With a $500,000 investment and a partnership with Undue Medical Debt, up to $50 million in medical debt will be erased for hardworking families across our state.

This means fewer sleepless nights, less fear of the mailbox, and more room for people to focus on healing and living their lives.

Last week, my husband, @mattmeyerde.bsky.social, took action to wipe out nearly $19 million in medical debt for more than 18,000 Delawareans, with even more help on the way. I know firsthand how life-changing this relief will be for families. And we're just getting started.

As a physician, I've seen how quickly a medical emergency can turn into months or years of financial stress.

Moments like this honor traditions rooted in faith, history, and belonging, and remind us that Delaware is a state of neighbors where we can all come together.

As First Lady, my husband Governor Matt Meyer and I are committed to building a more inclusive Delaware for everyone.

That’s why affixing a mezuzah at Woodburn alongside members of Delaware’s Jewish community was so meaningful to our family.

Because every person in our state deserves to feel safe in their community.

At yesterday's Coalition for a Safer Delaware Fall Forum, I spoke about the steps our administration is taking to address the root causes of gun violence, including establishing the Office of Gun Violence Prevention and Community Safety.

My husband, Gov @mattmeyerde.bsky.social, and I are committed to improving outcomes and saving lives.

Gun violence is a public health crisis that impacts every community in Delaware. As an ER doctor, I’ve seen firsthand the devastating effects of violence.

To all the Girl Scouts putting on goggles and diving into these experiments: I hope you see yourselves as future innovators, researchers, and leaders. Delaware needs your ideas, your imagination, and your brilliance.

I was delighted to see science through the eyes of these wonderful girls and to share in the same joy and curiosity that inspired me as a young student.

Today, IFF partnered with the Girl Scouts of the Chesapeake Bay and Archmere Academy to give 2nd–5th grade girls hands-on science experiences that build confidence, curiosity, and a sense of possibility.

Every girl deserves the chance to feel the spark of excitement and wonder that science can ignite. As both Delaware’s First Lady and a doctor, I’m focused on helping more young girls see themselves as the next generation of STEM leaders.

Matt wears a lot of hats: dad, husband, teacher, governor, and somehow gives his all to every one of them. He leads with integrity and heart, and I couldn’t be prouder.

As both First Lady and a physician, I know how important it is for families to have clear, reliable guidance.

The science is clear: taking Tylenol during pregnancy does not cause autism. The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists has confirmed this medicine is safe for expectant parents to use.

Being curious and asking questions is important. But it’s just as important to share information responsibly.

That’s why our administration is holding Gun Violence Listening Sessions across Delaware. Wilmington will host one on 9/16, and every voice is welcome. Delaware is strong, and we will stop the cycle.

My heart breaks for the lives lost – from leaders and loved ones taken too soon, to children in our schools who should be safe but are not. As an ER doctor, I’ve held victims’ hands, spoken to grieving parents, and seen the devastation up close. It fuels my resolve to act.

When First Spouses from across the country, and party lines, come together with one voice, it’s because the stakes are too high to stay silent. I was proud to join them in signing a letter demanding an end to the gun violence that is tearing families apart and stealing futures.

As an ER doctor, I don’t just pray for gunshot victims. I act.

Our job is to save every life in front of us. But the truth is, the time to protect our children from gun violence is before they ever reach the ER.
