Wife, mum, granny. Scot living in Yorkshire with my Lancashire husband. Confused? You will be. Growing old disgracefully, one gin at a time.

Morning Mushen, so glad for you it’s Friday. Weirdly, even being retired I look forward to Friday and still hate Sunday evenings. πŸ€·β€β™€οΈπŸ€·β€β™€οΈ

And yet, go out and actually ask people, you know, the electorate that they’re supposed to represent and I’ll bet anything they are overwhelming against getting involved.

It’s always good to get away regardless of the weather. We never booked anywhere for the weather. Enjoy. X

We actually had a couple of promising days but back to the rain last night.

Ah, that’s lovely. I was there over half term with DIL and the kids. Have a lovely time, hope the weather improves, it’s been raining all night here. X

The tax burden for these people will never be low enough, they’ll only be happy when they get to dictate our lives to suit their interests.

Lucky you, it’s been raining all night. I was planning on walking into town for my hair appointment, well that’s not happening now. πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈπŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ

Unfortunately, it seems to be a narrative being pushed on breakfast tv this morning. πŸ€·β€β™€οΈπŸ€·β€β™€οΈ

Read these words from 100 years ago about immigrants in Britain – and see how history is chillingly repeating itself | George Monbiot Shabana Mahmood’s new rights clampdown looks outlandish until we remember that this kind of hardline action is part of our country’s fabric, says George Monbiot

The precedent is eerily, chillingly precise. What the current Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood is doing to immigrants and refugees today is almost a carbon copy of what Sir William Joynson-Hicks was doing 100 years ago. And that's not a good thing. My column.

There’s nothing that doesn’t look or taste better in a nice glass. I also did shavings of cucumber which I think looks nicer.

I so wanted to like that one, we did a tour of the distillery, it was fabulous, very interactive but I just didn’t like it. Not sure if it was the grapefruit, I was so sure it would be my thing but I just wasn’t keen.
