And Batman has Bruce absolutely warped and shaped by the hell that is Absolute Gotham, shedding his no killing rule and his foibles to instead become a ruthless living weapon who is practically unstoppable, justice that terrifies friends and enemies alike. Fighting fire with fire in a world aflame.

Wonder Woman has Diana as a shining, ideal beacon of how hope and kindness can still thrive in this harsh, dismal world and that sticking to her morals and her convictions no matter how depraved and cruel things may get is always worthwhile. A beacon of how life can still be lived, if you try.

Superman has Kal-El as an unsure, tortured young man who constantly questions himself and his role in the world, all the while his ACTIONS actively make the world around him and those near him believe things CAN be better. A light in the darkness even if he doesn't believe he deserves to be one.

After finishing Absolute Superman Vol. 2 I really love the way each of the Trinity Absolute books approach the conceit of the imprint (a darker, harsher universe built by Darkseid to put his thumb on the scale and encourage anguish) in different ways that strengthen the books AND leads

My homage to Giant Size X-Men #1, that debuted 51 years in February 1975! It marked the relaunch of the X-Men comic after a multi year hiatus and the beginning of the titles ascension to the most popular title in the comic book industry throughout the late 70's and all of the 80's.
