The next stop announcements on Lothian buses are getting louder. Even the arsehole watching YouTube with no headphones is tutting at it.

I do walking tours in Edinburgh. I sometimes take low quality photos and share them. Sometimes I don't.

30.08.2025 19:27 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I forgot #edinburgh council likes to remove the bins from the royal mile during the festival. Also its weird. Where is all this litter coming from? #whinge
31.07.2025 08:37 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0#innis&gunn not giving a shit about #edinburgh. Storing their pish on and all around the bronze 3d map of edinburgh for the blind.
27.07.2025 14:20 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Went to the willow tea rooms for a wee afternoon tea this week. Place was decked out in Charles Rennie Mackintosh style furniture. I remember when that place was a starbucks. Much better now. Obviously, I took no photos of that, but here's the view from their window :)

Was working down in Dean Village yesterday. It's always a treat to walk down there. It's 10 mins from the city centre, and it feels like a different world. I took these pics from the wee bridge over the water of leith.

Gorgeous wee red admiral butterfly enjoying the evening sun. #Edinburgh is always beautiful but this time of year is extra magic

The Highland tolbooth in Edinburgh. I love this view. Took the photo from the new college of edinburgh university.
The red shutters makes the black sandstone pop. The black sandstone makes the red shutters pop. #Edinburgh likes her buildings to pop.

Took a wee walk around Arthur's Seat yesterday. Been a thousand times. It's always beautiful. Last night was brilliant. So lucky to live here in #Edinburgh
07.04.2025 13:11 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Seen this beauty down on the Water of Leith walkway this evening. Taking in the last wee bit of sun of the day and standing proudly next to a pile of shite in the water.

Lovely rainbow the other day up at the modern Gallery in #edinburgh.
24.02.2025 13:22 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Cute wee grey cat sits at a window trying to get in. It's lovely and sunny and the roof tiles are a nice red colour
Everyone's favourite resident of Ramsay Garden, #Edinburgh. Waiting patiently to get indoors. It looks nice and sunny but it's actually freezing here today.
This #cat was the highlight of today's tour according to my guests.
Edinburgh castle but it's away in the distance behind the new town buildings. There are dozens of buildings on top of one another. The city art centre is in the middle. The green dome of the bank of Scotland building sticks out
Taken while gasping for air at the top of Jacobs Ladder, #edinburgh. Brilliant view across to the old town and the castle away in the distance. I like how different edinburgh looks from every angle
29.01.2025 08:18 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0The Pentland Hills as seen from the edinburgh castle esplanade in the distance. Covered in snow. Looking pretty.
The Pentland Hills looked amazing today. Its been pretty cold and the snow makes them look even better than usual. That's where we get our water supply in #Edinburgh. I love the clouds above them aswell. Edinburgh, you're beautiful.

Delivery at Edinburgh castle.
Forgot to use the servants entrance.
Snapped this on my walking tour yesterday.
Sir John Steell's brilliant sculpture of Sir Walter Scott. This was carved out of a 30 ton block of Carrara marble and took him 6 years to finish!
I assume cos it was difficult, not cos he was a massive procrastinator.
The Xmas tree in the Great Hall of the Scottish National Portrait Gallery. In the background, there are statues and busts and a cool painting of different folk from Scottish history
Wee bit of the ceiling in the Portrait Gallery
The Scottish National Portrait Gallery always looks amazing over Christmas.
Was in the Great Hall this afternoon and took these pics.
You can spot statues and busts of some of the best writers in Scottish history hiding behind the tinsel.

Tower of art vibes. I love it
07.12.2024 09:27 β π 4 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Statue of charles the 2nd on a horse. In front of it is a motorbike. Behind it is st giles cathedral. The cathedral tower is all lit up.
Another pic I like from the other night. St giles looking cool with the tower lit up. The statue of charles the 2nd lit from the other side and a motorbike, oh I just realised why it's cool. Its the bike.
04.12.2024 07:34 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Charles II statue looking pretty awesome last night.
This is the oldest statue in #Edinburgh, erected in 1685.
The statue depicts Charles in Roman style garb and carrying a baton. In reality of course he looked exactly like Captain Hook.
Check out this wee painted stone I was given today. I love it. Happy St Andrews day :)
The Saltire, or St Andrewβs Cross, is Scotlandβs national flag and one of the oldest in Europe. Its origins date back to a legendary battle in 832 AD.
The New Gatehouse of #Edinburgh castle. Built in 1887
This is Scots baronial style #architecture at its finest:
Asymmetry
Protruding turrets
Crenellations (castly bits)
Corbie steps. (crow steps)
Decorative corbling (the fancy bits under the turrets)
Looks great in the mid-morning sun.
St Margaret's Chapel looking incredible with a rare blue sky behind it.
This is the oldest building in Edinburgh. Built around 1130 by King David I, and named in honour of his mammy, queen Margaret. He was a good lad.
The spire of the Tron Kirk is undergoing essential repairs at the moment.
The kirk was opened in 1641 but was badly damaged in the Great Edinburgh Fire of 1824. Spire, spire, pants on fire.
The spire was built in 1828 by R&R Dickson, two brothers from Edinburgh.
The Body Snatcher by Robert Louis Stevenson π
23.11.2024 11:26 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0The Nelson Monument. Looking spectacular.
Started in 1807 architect Robert Burn.
It's meant to look like an upturned telescope. Nelson was a big fan of telescopic japes and also struggled to envison characters in his favourite shows hooking up.

Sherlock Holmes is what's up! The most famous detective in history. This statue was built in memory of his creator, the genius, and often interesting Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, who was born very nearby on 22 May 1859.
