Black and White image of Australian Gum Tree Blossom shot using 1850's method of wet plate. There are twigs with some gum leaves that are lance shaped with a slight curve. The blossoms are semi circular clusters of up to six or so white flowers. Each cluster could be 1 to over 15 flowers. The flowers are a messy display of thin strands, which are the stamens, forming a large fluffy collar around the interior strands which are much shorter. There is a dark circular band separating the inner and outer strands. The twigs are standing in a small old bottle with a double diamond pattern on the glass faceted sides. The background is out of focus but appears to be rectangular stone blockwork.
