Where does having unelected billionaires shutting down government agencies while calling for the impeachment of federal judges ruling against him fall on the spectrum?

πŸ’‘There are a lot of fairly easy steps to improve your privacy. While too in-depth for a single post, a good start would be to:
Review your application permissions.
Delete unused applications.
Disable the advertising ID on your device.
Disable WiFi and Bluetooth when not in use.

⁉️This is possible because of the app permissions. Many apps contain SDKs that inherit the permissions of the app itself. If you give permission for a weather app to access your location, and the app contains an SDK from Gravy, they also get your data. Some apps simply sell your location data.

πŸ—ΊοΈ The X thread shows how the data can be used, relatively easily, to identify and track people. The dataset contains location data around military sites, the White House, etc.

πŸ“ŠFrench security researcher Baptiste Robert just demonstrated the capabilities of even the sample data on X. He notes that if the 1.4GB sample contains >30 million locations, the entire 17TB could include as many >217 BILLION locations.

β˜‘οΈ On January 5, a cyber threat actor known as Nightly released a 1.4GB sample of the 17TB of data exfiltrated. The breached data includes the Gravy’s entire customer database, credentials for the company’s AWS infrastructure, historical tracking data spanning years on TENS OF MILLIONS of people.

πŸ’» Gravy Analytics and its subsidiary Venntel are mobile location data providers. The FTC took action against them in late December for selling sensitive location data. The companies also sell location data to law enforcement and intelligence agencies.

Let’s talk about a story that has been largely drowned out by the Meta decision but has massive privacy and national security implications: the Gravy Analytics breach.

I’m sure that there were space lasers involved as well. If only the democrats that control the weather machine would generate rain over the area.

From the article, β€œBid requests containing more personal data attract higher bids, so websites and apps are financially motivated to harvest as much of your data as possible.”

This spineless shit had the ability to hold people responsible and accountable, but chose partisanship and profit over ethics, morality, and democracy.

He is a stain and a disgrace and should be remembered as such.

My daughter asked if her elf on the shelf reported her behavior to Santa.

I imagined explaining how the tablet and apps she uses & nearly everything else in her life are cogs in the surveillance capitalism complex.

But she's five, so I just said, "Yeah. Plus, he calls Mommy and I."

Threads, the Meta app tracks the following data points. Why does a social media account need financial info, browsing info, search history, and "sensitive info?"

Bottom Line Up Front (BLUF): Apps you likely use daily collect and sell shocking amounts of data on you. This data can be purchased for pennies on the dollar and used against you. Data collection isn't a threat... until it is.
Expand the images below to see what different apps collect.

IntelTechniques by Michael Bazzell

There are some great resources at inteltechniques.com. His books are great and the free magazine articles are also valuable. It’s an OSINT site, but good OPSEC and infosec starts with using OSINT techniques against yourself. I’m writing a whole thesis that somewhat relates to this.
