🎓 Big congrats to Dr.-Ing. Qifeng Pan from HLRS!
His research at HLRS focused on speeding up uncertainty quantification in simulations by transforming how code handles uncertainty, a big step for HPC efficiency and scalability.

After a certain point in the development of a turbulent flow — for example, as air moves over a wing in flight — the outer region of the turbulent boundary layer (where blue dominates) maintains a persistent, self-similar physical structure. Image: IAG, University of Stuttgart.
A new simulation on HLRS’s Hawk supercomputer reveals how turbulent boundary layers evolve at moderate Reynolds numbers. Researchers at @unistuttgart.bsky.social's IAG identified a key transition to self-similar structure.

Im Fokus: Wie können HPC & digitale Tools Städte konkret unterstützen? In der CAVE wurde sichtbar, wie Simulation und Visualisierung helfen, komplexe Zusammenhänge für Planung und Öffentlichkeit greifbar zu machen.
