The collective impact of these leaders is felt across our neighborhoods and will continue to echo for generations to come. I am grateful for their leadership and deeply inspired by their work.

914United is creating second chances and building a foundation of support and empowerment for justice-impacted youth. The Westchester Parks Foundation is preserving the natural beauty of our County while ensuring equitable access to green spaces.

CarlLa Horton has been a fierce advocate for survivors of domestic violence. Dr. Jeremy Kohomban continues to transform the lives of children and families through his work at the Children’s Village.

The evening celebrated those who lead with purpose, drive progress with integrity, and deliver meaningful results where they are needed most. This year’s honorees each reflect the strength and spirit of Westchester.

At the Keep Westchester Thriving Awards hosted by Nonprofit Westchester, I had the privilege of standing alongside some of the most dedicated leaders and organizations working to address the most urgent needs facing our communities.

Their tireless efforts help preserve dignity, independence, and quality of life for those they care for. Thank you to AARP New York for your continued advocacy and leadership. And to all the caregivers in Westchester and beyond, we see you, and we honor you.

Family caregivers are the backbone of our healthcare system. They manage medications, coordinate appointments, assist with daily living needs, and provide emotional support, all while balancing their own lives and responsibilities.

This recognition honors the more than 63 million Americans who serve as family caregivers, dedicating their time, energy, and compassion to caring for aging parents, spouses, children, and loved ones.

It was a privilege to present a proclamation to AARP New York in honor of National Family Caregivers Month.

We need a solution that truly meets the needs of our communities and protects working families from unsustainable rate hikes. Thank you to my colleagues in the County and State government for continuing to advocate for transparency and accountability.

The current energy affordability crisis demands bold and meaningful action. That is why I support the formal letter filed with the Public Service Commission, urging them to reject this inadequate proposal.

I was proud to stand with fellow elected officials in strong opposition to the recent joint proposal submitted by Con Edison in its rate cases. While the revised plan reflects some progress, it still falls short of what Westchester residents deserve.

I encourage everyone to support an organization that makes a difference in their respective community. Together, we can continue to build a Westchester where every person has the chance to thrive.

When we give, we strengthen the safety net that so many of our neighbors depend on year-round.

Today is a reminder that generosity does not need to be complicated. Support of any size can help a child, a senior, a veteran or a family in crisis.

Giving Tuesday is an opportunity to pause and remember the power we have to lift one another up. Many families in Westchester face real challenges, and the nonprofits that serve them rely on community support to keep their doors open and their programs running.

Our local businesses deserve our appreciation and our support, not just today but throughout the holiday season and the year ahead.

When residents choose to shop local, they strengthen the local economy and keep dollars circulating within our communities. I encourage everyone to take time today to discover a new small business or revisit a favorite one.

These entrepreneurs invest not only in their companies but in the well-being of their communities. They create jobs, mentor young workers, sponsor local events and help shape the character of our cities, towns and villages.

Small Business Saturday is an important reminder that the backbone of Westchester’s economy is built on the dedication and vision of our small business owners.
