Preservation is essential. Tho’ I’m fairly convinced that our analog heritage is what will remain if society, civilization and digital technologies are ever lost. Tho’ I fully support the work of orgs like Permanent, Forever, pCloud, Internet Archive.

Our team builds FACTool for archival collections inspired by the 45,500 cave painting on Sulawesi.

PDF/A is an ISO-standardized version specialized for use in archiving and long-term preservation of digital documents

Creating a PDF/A on PC eludes me

💡They're easily created with  Preview via File > Export

For reference, ISAD-G is inclusive of 152 countries and their primary spoken/written language.

Though it does still leave us with 59 countries that are not represented.

It’s a solidly respectable start from our perspective.

Beware of Dropbox and monthly/annual cloud providers. They are digital shoeboxes.

Our Grandfather kidnapped us on little afternoon roadtrips. He would drive us places that were thriving in the early 20th century. It’s like he transported us. Also Science Fiction and Historical Dramas, if that makes sense.
