Every now again it’s useful to repeat advice about accessing papers that are behind a paywall that excludes you. Email the author. My estimate is that 90% of academics are so thrilled that a living, breathing, possibly even reading, person shows interest that they will swiftly send you a copy.

Kingfisher by Rebecca Croser | New Flash Fiction Review My husband and I have our backs to the sea, fixed as we are on the puzzle. Plywood, 527 pieces, laser-cut with bird whimsies.

"Lucas is fishing off the pier with a girl too clever for him. Anna and her disciples have been experimenting with shoplifting."

Great exploration of family dynamics in "Kingfisher" by @rebeccacroser.bsky.social in #NFFR Issue 36
