That's not entirely accurate. I don't care, in the sense that everyone is equally welcome. I care, in that I find people's stories fascinating. That's part of what makes people who they are.

I don't care at all how the the people in my community came to be here, whether lawfully, unlawfully, sprouted from the earth, dropped from the sky, or arrived by magic spell. Welcome. Good to meet you.

A lot of misconceptions many Americans have about the civil rights and anti-war movements have to do with their effectiveness at changing opinion. A lot of the successes had more to do with top-down elite buy-in due to Cold War competition over societal narratives than bottom-up changes in opinion.

Friendly holiday reminder that people rush to submit before the holidays and declined reviews get even worse than usual. And editors want to enjoy holiday time, too. Patience and grace to all (and to all a good night)!

People can divide the labor however they like. That's totally fine. But division of labor does not give dads license to be total dumb-asses about raising babies.

Get in the game gentlemen. It's not charming, it's shameful. Change diapers. Take your kid to their pediatrician. Make a bottle. Rock them to sleep. You get a pass on gestation, breastfeeding, and giving birth, but that's it. You need to know how, and be wiling to do everything else.

This is not only epically stupid, but incredibly misogynistic.

It's somehow considered charming when men act like ignorant doofuses about raising children. But if a woman said this, the shaming and name calling would be overwhelming.
