Y'all, I am simply begging you to start masking up again. We will have no information on the pandemic currently underway AND no information when/if H5N1 makes the jump.

Don't wait for someone from the government to tell you to start protecting yourself because it will be way too late if they do.

Disabled people have been trying to warn the public for years that “you do you” Covid policies were leading to increased discrimination and eugenics attitudes. 

When States began criminalizing masks, we pleaded for support. We asked our peers to wear a mask in solidarity. 🧵

At some point every person who decided wearing a mask was inconvenient for them will have to reckon with the fact that they contributed to the rise of fascism. Disabled activists have been telling us for decades that pandemics lead to fascism, but all of y'all decided disabled lives were expendable.

Don’t underestimate the impact you’re making when you choose to wear a mask.

You’re protecting your health & the health of your community. You’re helping ease the burden on our healthcare system.

You’re standing in solidarity with disabled people & telling the government that no one is expendable

Genuinely if you haven't been wearing a mask you have zero right to complain about the US withdrawing from WHO. Y'all decided caring about a pandemic was inconvenient for you, of COURSE this country doesn't give af about your health.

A Plea to Maskless Healthcare Workers from Vulnerable Patients If you see a mask - wear a mask. Better yet - wear a mask all the time and show us you understand that we're still IN a pandemic. We are depending on you to keep us safe - please don't betray that.

When you ask “do you want me to wear a mask?” You’re putting an undue burden on your patient

Prior to Covid it was normal to mask in the NICU. People understood that premature babies are as vulnerable as they come and need to protected.

Now? Gowns & gloves but no masking.

The damage caused by anti mask rhetoric will be felt for years (possibly decades) to come.
