So anyways, while I'm quiet posting, I'm really interested how @bsky.app becomes a true new-wave platform vs. parody+ platform based on current issues that fizzles out. We all fucking lose then because the other option is easier and bigger and survives the short term, but not necessarily long term

"Owning" a name/handle is fucking hard too - there's a lot of john smiths. So this isn't an easy, instant solve, but if I wanted Bluesky to grow as a shared media platform with interesting takes and all the people I enjoy hearing and learning from...that's something to solve-uniquely.

So maybe there's a space, given protocol things, to create a more agnositc and accepted name, that can also have a brand association that's easier to use publicly (you could keep the butterfly even, this is beyond the fucking thread, but noodle on it), and you can "own" names to a degree.

It's fucking hard to up-end people saying "here's my handal" and it being associated with Twitter. Major news sews uses the bird, and I don't know how @bsky.app has a bird (and butterfly may hit..not sure it is differentiated enough)

I'm slow to go through this while looking at all-the-things and core benefits, but bluesky's pretty fucking great. With that said, it's great for their protocol level options, less nazi focused, has some base features for users that are net good (and they can expand here)

There's a lot to love about @bsky.app while it's hard to reset hard a decade+ too. Experience is similar than better at face level and 10x better at (protocol) level, from a UX per user level that's a hard-fucking-problem for diff groups to find their happy path.

Feels like the greatest risk to all the AI hype is costs (no, sorry enviro). This feels like a pseudo-blitzscaling timeline again and at some point all will increase: costs, limitations to usage, etc., and market interest will get slapped. Net Rev will come knocking eventually.

a UX point to @bsky.app I should see the thing I just posted immediately so I can post again. You can then pick out both camps and change the experience for both to improve ux(or cx depending stakeholder)

thinking about things - it's nice to think abought "how will people search things" and it feel more nuanced than it has in 15+ years.

I wonder if #Lazarus is a 26 episode arch anime that was given 13 after the fact, and that is part of the disconnect. Missing character connections specifically (some of the conversation is bad, but could be made up for with more character info) that would make things more impactful.

Taking some getting used to, and I miss the established connections, but...hopeful :)
